QDD-400G-FR4 is a high performance, low cost transceiver with duplex LC connector, which supports transmission distance up to 2km over SM fiber. On the transmitter side, the module converts 8 channels of 50Gbps (PAM4) electrical input data to 4 channels of CWDM optical signals, and multiplexes them into a single channel for 400Gbps optical transmission. On the receiver side, the module optically de-multiplexes a 400Gbps optical input into 4 channels of CWDM optical signals, and converts them to 8 channels of 50Gbps (PAM4) electrical output data. The module incorporates 4 independent channels on CWDM4 1271/1291/1311/1331nm center wavelength, operating at 100G per channel. The module supports commercial operating temperature, and the specification is compliant with 100G Lambda MSA 400G FR4 Technical Specification and the electrical interface is compliant with IEEE 802.3bs and QSFP-DD MSA.

Q:What is it and what is its main use??
A:This optical module is designed for 400G Ethernet transmission and uses a QSFP-DD form factor. The FR4 designation indicates that it uses four wavelengths, using coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) technology, to achieve 400G transmission over a pair of single-mode optical fibers. The maximum transmission distance is 2 km.
Main Applications: Primarily used for data center interconnects (for example, connecting switches between racks or floors), data center interconnects (DCIs), and high-performance computing (HPC) networks.
