Active Optical Cable (AOC) is an integrated high-speed transmission cable with built-in opto-electrical conversion, providing a cost-effective solution for short-distance interconnection in data centers. Active optical cables require no additional optical transceivers, with both ends adapting to standard optical ports for plug-and-play use. They support data rates from 10G to 800G, including breakout versions, with transmission distances from several meters to hundreds of meters, compatible with mainstream packages like QSFP, QSFP-DD and OSFP. These active optical cables feature low power consumption, low latency, anti-electromagnetic interference, light weight and easy cabling, compatible with mainstream switches and servers, complying with industry standards, widely used in data center in-cabinet interconnection and server clusters, and are an efficient alternative to traditional fiber patch cords and optical transceiver combinations.
