The 400GBASE-DR4 silicon optical module uses MPO-12 connectors and transmits up to 500 m over parallel single-mode fibre. It is compliant with the QSFP-DD MSA, IEEE 802.3bs protocol, and the 400GAUI-8 standard.400Gigabit Ethernet signals are transmitted over four parallel channels, one wavelength per channel. It can be used as a 4x100G branch of QSFP 100G.
